Residents of the village of Picalle in Tirana have come out in protest, members of 70 families claim that their lands and forest are being taken over by a private company.
In a statement to the media, they say that no one has gone to meet them and consult with them regarding the project that the private company intends to develop. Residents say that their lands have been surrounded and that they no longer have a place to graze their cows.
" They are blocking everything, everything, like Picalli and Sauku. 200-300 families have parts here and no one has been notified. We have documents that this siege is illegal.
" Shijaku group " they say, this " Shijaku group " should come and talk to the residents once, then do whatever it wants. We have the papers and the new ones don't do this to us. That we have the old ones actually. We don't know anything, we went to the municipality and they told us that they have no knowledge about the project that will be done ," the residents said, among other things.
