The Albanian state police received another blow, one of the officers was arrested in Italy for theft and then the director Muhamet Rrumbullaku dismissed him. He is Klisman Nikolli, 27 years old, patrol officer in Shengjin. On November 17, Nikolli was arrested by the carabinieri of the Portogruaro company when he tried to return to Albania.
In the hotel room in San Stino di Livenza, where he was with co-investigators Viktor Bilani, 30 years old, and Flor Koca, 35 years old, their suitcases were already ready, but inside them were the stolen items.
When the police handcuffed him, Nikolli told them "release me, I am an Albanian policeman". But this was not enough. The evidence for his arrest was strong.
But how was it discovered?
The three are suspected of 18 thefts and attempted thefts in Portogruaro, Concordia Sagittaria, Musile di Piave and San Michele al Tagliamento.
In two cases they stole 2000 euros and in another house 9000 euros and several watches. Protected by lawyer Ilenia Mehilli, Nikolli and the two friends did not speak yesterday. "We will evaluate the investigation documents," said the lawyer.
Doubts in Albania
Klisman Nikolli had been under surveillance for more than a year, as he had been separated several times from his job as an officer in Lezha, taking leave. This had created doubts in the ranks of the police.
The mother of the 27-year-old Gjelina Nikolli said that the boy is in Germany and has nothing to do with what the Italian media write. "They are all lies, slander and intrigues of the ill-wishers of the Nikolli family," she declared.
The martyred father
The young man's father, Mark Nikolli, an effective and well-known rhapsody in Lezhë, was killed in 2003, just 100 meters from the Lezhë Police. Mark Nikolli, 46 years old at that time, was walking on the street when the author Martin Pjetri, already in handcuffs, shot him with a firearm.
The policeman fell to the ground, but Pjetri was not satisfied with that. He approached and shot Nikolli again, to make sure he was killed. The reason for this murder was blood feud, since Mark Nikolli's sister had killed Marjan Pjetri's father.
