An accident resulting in the death of a 71-year-old woman has led to the arrest of a police officer in Gjirokastra.

The Police Supervision Agency (Vlora - Gjirokastra Region) announces that it has arrested officer AM, acting Head of the Kakavija Green Border at the Gjirokastra DVKM.

He is accused of the criminal offense of " Violation of traffic rules ".

The incident occurred the day before, when the officer, while driving his vehicle, hit citizen KH, 71 years old, who lost her life as a result of her injuries.

The Police Supervision Agency (Vlora - Gjirokastra Region) has arrested in flagrante delicto the police officer AM, acting Head of the Kakavija Green Border at the Gjirokastra DVKM, suspected of committing the criminal offense of "Violation of road traffic rules".

His arrest was carried out after yesterday, while driving, he hit citizen KH, who died as a result.

The first investigative actions have been carried out, such as examining the scene of the incident, seizing the vehicle, and also taking a blood sample for toxicological examination.

The result of the alcohol test was negative.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra.
