Five people, including a woman, are members of a criminal organization in the field of cocaine trafficking, which was discovered by the Greek authorities. According to the Greek media , the group was led by an Albanian, who found clients and paid for the premises rented by other members of the group.
The operation for their arrest was carried out last week by the Prosecution Department in Patra, while the persons are accused of drug trafficking in Achaia and Attiki.
According to the indictment, the arrested Greek woman was the one hiding the narcotics in her apartment.
The original source where the leader found the drugs is not yet known, but the apartments in Piraeus where the cocaine was hidden have been discovered. However, to cover their tracks, members of the criminal organization used a cafe in Neo Faliro that belonged to a relative of the leader.
"The strange thing about this cafe is that the manager appears as the person in charge and the other members as employees or customers. As it is learned, drug shipments were made there, while they also had a "service phone" that they used to communicate with customers. The money was always taken by the manager, who was informed with every detail about how the drug traffic went. They also had at their disposal vehicles that were also used to hide drugs," the investigative file says, Greek media reports.
Discounts were given to good customers
Members of the drug trade also used codes to avoid detection.
The selling price for one gram was 50 euros, while half a gram was sold for 30 euros. Good customers are also given a price discount. While those who did not pay did not receive until they paid or cleared the debt.
Their clientele was sufficient and in just a few days from May 8 to 23 they collected 5,850 euros from the sale of cocaine and cannabis.
"I was in the wrong place at the wrong time"
The 28-year-old Greek accused in this case denies all the charges. Her lawyer, Giorgos Simos, told "Patris" newspaper: "My client has nothing to do with the charges. She is a girl who has suffered in her life from a very young age.
Her co-accused was the one who provided her accommodation and they established a personal relationship.
She, like the others, is a drug user, as everyone was looking to find small amounts of drugs to satisfy their needs, and this is the reason they are all connected to each other.
Apologizing, she declared that she is innocent. However, the position of the defense is that she was in the wrong place at the wrong time, it has nothing to do with the amount found in the house where she lived, it was not hers and she did not want it to be.
The only relationship he has with the accused is entirely personal, while there was no contact with the quantity, as was established during the investigations. He will apply for release from prison by presenting the required evidence".
