They set up a fraud scheme and benefited over €1,300,000, 2 Albanians
Police in Gjirokastra

2 Albanians have been arrested and 3 Italians have been declared wanted as they are accused of defrauding the citizens in order to benefit through the VAT refund.

3 bank accounts were seized with the sums of 1 million 300 000 euros and 13 million new ALL.

Police notification:

Specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes of DVP Gjirokastër, in implementation of the decision of the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction Gjirokastër, have executed the security measures "Arrest in prison", for citizens IQ, 45 years old and EB, 48 years old, for the criminal offense "Creation of fraudulent schemes related to value added tax", committed in cooperation.

Also, the Italian citizens AD, SC and SC have been declared wanted. For these citizens, the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction Gjirokastër has set the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Creation of fraudulent schemes related to the tax on added value", carried out in cooperation, "Forgery of seals, stamps or forms", "Concealment of income" and "Providing false information".

From the investigative actions with proactive methods developed by the investigative structures of the DVP Gjirokastër, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction Gjirokastër and with the Directorate for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes in the General Directorate of the State Police, it is suspected that these citizens, in cooperation with each other, have registered entities and issued invoices with fictitious VAT, for consulting services, creating credit balances, in order to benefit from VAT reimbursement.

In the framework of this criminal proceeding, in accordance with the decisions of the Court, 3 bank accounts were seized with the sums of 1 million 300 000 euros and 13 million new ALL.

In cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office and the Italian authorities, actions continue for the complete documentation of this criminal activity, as well as for the capture of the wanted citizens.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Gjirokastër, for further actions.
