Former president and leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, learned today the news of his father's passing. A few moments ago, he reacted with a post on social media, announcing the details of the ceremony and reception.

Meta himself has received permission from the Special Court to participate in the funeral ceremony at his father's last residence.

" Dear relatives, friends and well-wishers,

It is with deep sorrow that I share with you the sad news, for me and our entire family, of the passing of our wonderful father, Rexhep Meta.

In respect of his will, the funeral ceremony will take place tomorrow, June 2, at 12:00, in his birthplace in Çepan, Skrapar.

Meanwhile, for all friends and well-wishers, the family will hold a condolence reception on June 3 in Tirana, the exact place and time will be communicated to you later,"  Meta writes.
