Rexhep Meta, father of former Albanian President Ilir Meta, has passed away at the age of 83.

The news was also confirmed by his ex-wife Monika Kryemadhi as she entered SPAK.

Meta's lawyer has requested permission for the following day, so that the PL leader can leave his cell and participate in the funeral ceremony to say goodbye to his father.

The prisons have reminded the lawyer that they must also forward this request to SPAK, which writes that SPAK has approved the permit.

Meanwhile, procedures are being carried out for Meta to leave Institution 313 and attend his father's funeral.
