The former Minister of Justice, Ylli Manjani, has stated that SPAK is not applying even the minimum standards on the investigation of the incinerators issue.
Invited to the show "Zone Zero", Manjani stated that if the same arrests were to happen in the United States of America, then SPAK prosecutors would be put in prison.
"SPAK and the American Embassy have degraded the justice system. If these things happened in America, these SPAK members should be in jail today for arresting people without evidence. There is no minimum standard in the investigations that SPAK is doing .I have been a supporter of SPAK acting slowly and surely, but not like this.
You can't keep people in jail without evidence. You can't put someone in jail because that's what someone thinks. It has nothing to do with the person, but with the standard of justice. Even if it was Edi Rama, I would say the same thing. Popular justice is a disaster. Justice must be based on evidence and facts," said Manjani.
The former minister further added that until now, SPAK has not managed to substantiate the accusations of corruption against the former Minister of Environment Lefter Koka, who is currently behind bars.
"Where was the money taken and where did it go? None of the 8 companies have admitted that they have anything to do with Lefter Koka. Here you find tax evasion and here you bill Lefter as corruption. They say you cleaned the proceeds of crime, in the first place who is crime and how the proceeds of crime were cleaned," said Manjani.
