Journalist Fatos Mahmutaj has testified today in SPAK regarding the CEZ-DIA affair that has caused a damage of 414 million euros to the state budget, a file in which are the chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, as well as Sali Berisha.
Mahmutaj was questioned in connection with an interview he gave to the wife of Kastriot Ismailaj, the owner of the DIA Company, the only one punished for this affair.
Earlier, Mahmutaj revealed new details about the interview he conducted with Vojsava Ismailaj.
The latter, as Mahmutaj stated, has accused Meta of putting pressure on her husband, even "taking money from him".
Doubts started in 2009, when OSSH sold 75% of the shares to CEZ-DIA, during the government of Sali Berisha, which contract was terminated in 2013 after the socialists took power. The breach of the agreement caused a damage of over 414 million euros to the budget.
Kastiot Ismailaj was sentenced for this affair, for "fraud with serious consequences" and "money laundering", after he embezzled 5 million euros from the company with fictitious invoices without collecting any debt from the arrears.
