" I hit him with an ax for wood ", Nadire Kurti allegedly killed her husband at the height of an argument. The woman was convinced that 71-year-old Shefki Kurt wanted to leave her. She killed and dismembered her husband to "punish him for his alleged infidelity".

" He wanted to leave me," Nadire Kurti explained to the police in Rovigo – and then he would bring his girlfriend to live in our house.

In reality, the pensioner Shefki Kurti was brutally murdered and then thrown into the Adigetto canal, and it turns out that he had no extramarital affair. The 71-year-old had no intention of leaving his partner and it was the result of the fantasy of a clouded mind.

In fact, the woman had been struggling with various psychiatric disorders for years. For this reason, her life has always been lonely and reserved. her 71-year-old husband took care of her.

Lately the woman had developed an absurd jealousy towards him. Nadire Kurti was admitted to the psychiatric ward at the Rovigo hospital on August 12 and on the 18th he confessed to the crime to the police.

The police had already found traces of the murder inside the house on via Ghirardini in Badia Polesine, but the investigators wanted to continue the surveillance to understand the dynamics of the facts.

After the murder, the elderly woman moved to her son's house in Masi. Here he continued to deny any involvement in the crime, then confessed to what had happened.

The woman said she acted "because she was jealous of my husband's boyfriend". "He always talked to him, he had a microchip in his ear that he used to communicate with him - said the 68-year-old -. I could also hear his voice and I knew that he was asking for 90,000 euros from Shefkiu".

"To kill him, I used the ax that my husband used for wood", she explained to the police.

She hit him in the back of the head over and over again until she took his head off. Soon after, she dragged the body into the bathroom and dismembered it into several garbage bags. At that moment she hid everything in the refrigerator at home, waiting for night to come.

Under the cover of darkness, she went to the Adigetto embankment and threw her husband's remains into the water along with the used weapons. Once at home she cleaned everything, then called his son and told him that his father had left the house after an argument.

After the confession, on the afternoon of August 18, the carabinieri returned to the canal, 60 meters from the couple's house. There they finally found the ax and the three kitchen knives used in the murder.
