The numerous arrests and the blockade of the streets of the capital have prompted a harsh reaction from the head of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi.

Through a statement following the footage of police violence and the arrest of young people on the street, Bardhi has directed the most serious accusations directly at police leaders and political orderlies of violence.

"Who are you raping like animals, taking unmarried people, taking garbage?! You rape your own children, leave them injured on the streets, take samples?!" Bardhi wrote.
