New details have been revealed from the robbery of the branch of the "National Commercial Bank" at noon this Monday in Koplik of Malësia e Madhe.

According to data collected by the investigative group, the robbery of the bank branch lasted 7 minutes. It is suspected that it has been planned for a long time, due to the fact that the perpetrators acted quickly and left through a previously studied terrain. The three masked and armed robbers took advantage of the moment of changing shifts between the guards guarding the bank.

A Border Police officer reportedly encountered the robbers as soon as they left the bank, but was unable to stop any of them after being found at gunpoint.

The operation to capture the robbers has been going on for several hours, where the Rapid Intervention Forces, RENEA and a helicopter are engaged.

Sources suggest that police have concentrated checks in the border areas with Montenegro, where suspicions are that the robbers may have fled to the neighboring country via the green border or through the lake.

The amount that the robbers may have taken is still unknown. After receiving the money, the perpetrators left quickly with their "Golf" type vehicle, which they burned at the exit of Koplik. After burning their car, they robbed a random citizen of a "Mercedes Benz" type vehicle and then left with it.

Strange is the fact that the robbers did not select an uninhabited area for the burning of the car, but the roundabout that connects with the national axis Shkodër-Hani i Hotit, where there are numerous movements by Albanians and foreigners.
