Great Britain strikes at the Krasniqi criminal group

The United Kingdom has imposed sanctions on several criminal networks from the Western Balkans region, including a group from Kosovo, who are suspected of forging documents that were then used by them for human trafficking.

The British government's announcement states that, in cooperation with the Kosovar authorities, the "Krasniqi Network" in Kosovo was targeted - a criminal organization that ran a sophisticated laboratory for the production of forged documents.

This network was responsible for the production and distribution of documents – passports, ID cards and licenses – for over 50 countries, including the United Kingdom, while the forged documents were used to facilitate the illegal movement of migrants, but also to support other criminal activities.

Those sanctioned are: Burim Krasniqi, leader of the group; Arif Krasniqi, intermediary; Flamur Krasniqi, Valon Krasniqi and Sami Duriqi, participants in the production of forged documents; Granit Avdyli, advertiser of the group's services; Nexhmie Selmani, owner of the facility where the forgery of documents was carried out; Endrit Emerllahu and Shkembim Emerllahu, members of the group and possessors of the forged documents.

The sanctions include the freezing of any property or economic resources that the sanctioned individuals own, hold or control, as well as a complete ban on entry to or stay in the territory of the United Kingdom. This means the freezing of bank accounts, properties and financial assets registered in their names.
