Former deputy minister and close friend of Edi Rama, Artan Shkreli, has called the construction in the Palasa area a giant cemetery. According to him, the construction in that area has brought about a sustainable destruction of the ecosystem and will have a long-term impact.
"One of the examples of a long-term sustainable failure is Palasa, like a giant cemetery, the cemetery has greenery, while it is a large mass like a quarry.
Of course it is an expensive area because the demand is greater to buy a house on the coast than the supply itself. Jala is one of the good examples, very well connected with the silhouette to the sea.
"The best examples would be the revitalization of the coastal villages and they will be the true pearls, beautifully built," Shkreli said in an interview with Radar.al.
Further, architect Shkreli said that Zvërnec should not be built as it is a protected area, while he spoke in favor of the project in Sazan.
"There should be no construction in Zvërnec because it is a protected area and protected areas are very clear. We have joined the Ramsar Conference.
"It should not be built at all or the buildings should be wooden, fishermen's type. Meanwhile, Sazani is a different story, it should be touristized. Sazani and Zvërnec are two different situations," Shkreli added.
