Safet and Behar Bajri have filed a criminal complaint with the Special Prosecution Office against MP Marjana Koçeku, following her public statements that people connected to the Bajri family had threatened her and her family members.
In the complaint filed, they describe the MP's claims as untrue and unsupported by evidence, while demanding the initiation of investigations into the statements made publicly. According to them, the persons indirectly mentioned by Koçek are currently deprived of their liberty and have not had the actual opportunity to carry out the actions attributed to them.
"The statement was made by a member of Parliament and was widely distributed in national media. Due to the author's public position: the statement had a wide impact; it exposed the Bajri family to public opinion as a source of threat and violence; it violated the honor, dignity and reputation of the family members ," the lawsuit states, among other things.
We recall that a day ago, MP Marjana Koçeku sent a public message to the well-known Bajri group in Shkodra, implying that her family has been threatened by criminal elements of this organization, which has been listed by the authorities.
"This message is addressed to the Bajrajs of Shkodra. If my family is affected, even a hair, I will not leave you without destroying you, as long as I have my life," wrote MP Marjana Koçeku.
But it was the Bajri who were the first to take legal action, a step that was also warned about by the Bajri family's own lawyer the day before.
Sokol Tahiraj said that the accusations publicly raised by Koçek are unfounded in evidence and constitute, according to him, a direct attack on the reputation and dignity of the people he represents.
At the same time, the lawyer called on MP Koçeku that if she has evidence for her claims, then she should present them to law enforcement institutions and not address them publicly in the media or social networks.
