US Embassy in Tirana resumes operations after US government reopens

The US Embassy in Tirana announces that it has resumed normal operations, after a period of interruption due to the US government shutdown.

"With the end of the government shutdown due to budget funding, we are ready to resume our work as normal! In case you missed it, we had the pleasure of welcoming Director for West Central European Affairs, Mark Fleming, to Albania last month," the US Embassy announces.

On social media, the US Embassy has returned with a missing announcement regarding the visit of the Director for West Central European Affairs, Mark Fleming, to Albania, which took place on October 31.

"Director Fleming met with leaders from across the political spectrum, as well as justice and law enforcement institutions, to emphasize the strong U.S.-Albania partnership, strengthen NATO readiness, and crack down on international criminal organizations," the U.S. Embassy said.

We recall that during his visit to Tirana, Fleming met with government and opposition politicians, as well as SPAK prosecutors, but did not meet with Prime Minister Edi Rama, as he was abroad, and he did not meet with Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku either.
