The Ministry of Justice has officially submitted to Switzerland the request for the extradition of former Deputy Prime Minister, Arben Ahmetaj .

The news was announced during the trial session on the merits of the " Buka " case, where Judge Irena Gjoka read the responses of the Interpol Tirana office .

Ahmetaj is accused in this file of abuse of office with economic damages reaching 7 billion lek.

The session is continuing in the absence of the government's former No. 2.

Ahmetaj's lawyer, Henrik Ligori , announced that there is no security measure for his client in this case and that the proposed measure is related to another proceeding.
