On Wednesday at 09:00, the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, will appear at the Special Prosecution Office to testify about the 'January 21' file.
This decision came after SPAK accepted Berisha's lawyer's request to postpone the interrogation date.
Berisha also received today the summons to appear before SPAK regarding the "January 21" case. Berisha was familiarized with this summons, and signed it, this Monday, as he appeared before SPAK, in implementation of the "compulsory appearance" measure regarding the Partizani complex case.
During his speech to journalists, Berisha implied his knowledge of a third announcement from SPAK to make statements for January 21.
Berisha did not state it clearly, but when asked if he had been notified to appear on Friday, the former prime minister said, "That's how Spak works, journalists receive the notification earlier."
"In fact, those who did not invite me had a problem, but now they invited me to this investigation and I will absolutely come and testify to everything I know... When I am invited, you will learn this. Be patient...", said Berisha after leaving SPAK where he was under security measures.
He also added that he considered "January 21" a state assassination before the Strasbourg Court did so.
"Did Sali Berisha also consider it a state murder? No, no, was Sali Berisha the first to say this before Strasbourg? To be consistent with yourself, I am the first to call it that after once it was said that it was close-range, an expertise was done, it was said that they were not close-range, that there was a surgeon's expertise and the surgeon defended that expertise two years ago. But, the other expertise showed that they were not close-range wounds and based on that, I called it a state murder," he added.
