The Supreme Court has rejected the request for freedom of Joana Duro, the former General Secretary of the Ministry of Health, accused of corruption.

A Criminal Panel decided not to accept the appeal made by Duro, leaving unchanged the measure of "prison arrest" given to her by the First Instance and the Special Appeal.

The "prison arrest" measure was not changed by the Supreme Court even for Laura Shteton, a high-level specialist, accused of the same case.

According to SPAK, through the State, former official Duro received a bribe of 330,000 ALL from the administrator of a company, for favoring her in a supervision tender.

A few days ago, SPAK completed the investigations and sent the case to the Court, taking the two former officials as defendants.
