The Court of Appeal has left 30-year-old Gëzim Gjini in prison, who is in prison after being accused of murdering his brother-in-law in Italy.

Gëzim Gjini was arrested with the intention of extradition to Italy, while he appealed the decision of the Court of First Instance in Lezhë to leave him in prison.

However, the appeal rejected his request and the 30-year-old will continue to stay in prison until the extradition procedures to Italy begin.

After the murder of his brother-in-law a year ago, Gjini was hiding in Albania and was arrested on August 12 in a cafe on the Lezhë-Milot road axis. He was wanted by the Italian authorities for the murder of his sister's husband, in Rocca Priora, Italy, on December 13, 2022, in collaboration with 2 others.
