The well-known actor, director and playwright, Naun Shundi, is facing a battle with his health that has forced him to quit his job at the theater he founded himself and which for him is life itself.

The artist's next project was the staging of the play "Il commissario daltonico a teatro" (The colorblind commissary). The show combines humor, mystery and absurdity. But, through a post on social networks, the Lady of the Guesthouse Theater announced that this production has been suspended, due to the director's health problems.

"To all those who knew that we would start working on a new work, we tell you that due to the health reasons of the director Naun Shundi, this production so desired for us as the Lady of the Guesthouse Theater will not be realized. We very much hope that this health challenge will pass quickly and well," the post states.

For specialized treatment, the great Albanian artist is in a hospital in France, where the treatment is accompanied by high financial costs that his family has so far borne.

Just a few days ago, the Lady of the Guesthouse Theater, founded by Naun Shundi and his wife, Raimonda Shundi, marked the 3rd anniversary of its establishment. Through a video message to all art lovers, the director focused on the importance of theater and especially Albanian creations. The artist has repeatedly emphasized the importance of 'speaking Albanian' on the theater stages in our country.

"The theater is moving away from the theater and is getting closer to business, to commerciality. It is true that theater without funds, without money, cannot be done, but it should be the main goal of theater... If you orient it towards money, you will die! It will no longer be a theater, it will be a shop that sells valueless goods. Please, let's give up this craze, try to make theater as the spectator deserves. I call on everyone to fight to keep the theater alive and bring it forward. It is a thousand-year-old creature and it is in our shame if we force it to die."

Meanwhile, the last play that Shund himself wrote and staged was the monodrama "Man of the Forest". The tragic mono-comedy raises problems and questions not only for man and human society in general, but also for every other living thing. It deals with problems of coexistence and harmony between all kinds, problems of human struggle, problems of life and death. And in fact, "The Man of the Forest", it seemed to be Shund himself, who brought the character created by him to the stage with great skill.

In these difficult moments for him and his family, Top Channel wishes the well-known director a speedy recovery and his return to the theater, where he has contributed for more than 40 years.
