An Albanian man has been jailed after his DNA was found on a teddy bear he touched when he raped a woman.
Bardhyl Mustafaj, 64, from Coupland Place in Greenwich, had gone to the woman's house near Hampstead Heath to fix a lamp. The woman, around 50, subsequently denounced Mustafay to police and he was charged with four counts of rape dating back to May 2019.
One substantial piece of evidence, found by police was the presence of the 64-year-old's DNA on a plush teddy bear that the woman used to push him away when he tried to kiss her.
Mustafaj pleaded not guilty but was convicted by a jury on December 1 at Wood Green Crown Court. He was jailed for eight years after a hearing on Friday (January 19)
