The situation in Vau i Dejës is very serious due to the rainfall that has caused flooding in all administrative units. In a statement to the media, the mayor of Vau i Dejës, Kristian Shkreli, said that 100 houses have water, while the greatest damage is to livestock, poultry and beehives.

"The situation is quite serious. Flooding has begun in all administrative units. The clay stream has overflowed its bed and is flooding the entire city of Vau i Dejës. 100 houses have water. The damage is very great in livestock, poultry and beehives, but we hope not to endanger people's lives because the situation is very serious."

According to him, the biggest problem is posed by the Glina stream, while he appealed that stone baskets, mountain dams and asphalting of roads are needed.

"The entire staff of the Vau i Dejës municipality is on the ground supporting the people and I believe that everything will go well with the evacuation, but I hope we don't have to evacuate."

We have been applying for the Clay Stream for 5 years and we have not won. I don't know the reason why, but it is a very big problem that with the municipality's funds it is impossible to realize this project.

"We need stone baskets, mountain barriers, and asphalting of roads to strengthen them like a dam to prevent them from breaking, because if we see it, it has broken the road and entered the water houses."
