Lawyer Plarent Ndreca, in a live broadcast with the show "Breaking with Jetona Koçibellin" on Top News, commented on the transfer of Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj to Fier detention.

Ndreca stated that no act has been made available to them on the basis of which Veliaj's transformation was carried out.

"This fact shows, at a minimum, a lack of transparency and, at a maximum, a serious violation of Mr. Veliaj's rights. He has every legal and constitutional right to be acquainted with the act on the basis of which he is transferred, the reasons on which the General Directorate of Prisons based this transfer, as long as Veliaj has not expressed any concern or consensus for this type of transfer ," said the lawyer.

While being interviewed, Ndreca was on his way to Fier prison, after receiving information that Veliaj had been placed in an isolation cell.

"According to the information, it turns out that Mr. Veliaj has been placed in an isolation cell, without windows, without normal conditions for detainees, however, I cannot confirm this and for this reason I have set out to verify this fact. I will try to meet him and see what conditions the Fier prison authorities have made available to him," said lawyer Ndreca.
