The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Klodiana Spahiu, has today provided an update regarding the condition of Erjon Vishkulli, the young man who suffered eye damage during the October 24 protest.

In a reaction on social media, Spahiu said that Vishkulli successfully underwent surgery at a clinic in Rome, Italy. According to the minister, doctors managed to save the young man's eye.

Full reaction:

Erjon Vishkulli has successfully undergone surgery at the "Gemelli" clinic in Rome, which saved the boy's eye organ.

On behalf of myself and the Albanian government, and with deep gratitude, I thanked Professor Stanislao Rizzo, who with high professionalism, dedication and human sensitivity successfully carried out the intervention, while the government also approved financial support for Erjon today.

Beyond knowledge and professional skill, it is precisely this human side, the joining of forces in humanity that makes these situations so special.

I sincerely wish Erjon a speedy recovery and strength in every step he takes. The success of the surgery is good news, and the journey towards regaining his eyesight will continue with patience and faith.

Sincere gratitude to Professor Rizzo for what he did and congratulations to Erjon's family and friends.
