Lionel Messi will continue his adventure in the United States of America. The Argentine striker, now 38 years old, has extended his contract with American club Inter Miami until the end of the 2028 season, confirming that he has no intention of stopping just yet.
The news was made official by the Florida-based club itself, through a video published on the social network 'X'. In the promotional material, the world champion appears at the construction site of Inter Miami's new stadium, a symbol of the long-term project in which Messi will remain the central figure.
The new deal will keep Messi tied to the club until the end of the 2028 MLS season. This contract extension is expected to allow the Argentine star to remain in optimal form even on the eve of the 2026 World Cup, which will take place in North America.
Since his arrival in Miami in 2023, Messi has been the mainstay of David Beckham's team, leading the team to its first-ever Leagues Cup trophy and significantly raising the profile of American soccer around the world.
