Referee confuses sport, karate-like kick causes chaos

Incredible scenes of a football match were recorded in Peru, in the challenge between Sport Huaquilla and Magdalena.

In the 82nd minute, the referee drew all attention to an action on the field that had nothing to do with football.

A member of Magdalena's staff hit referee Luis Alegre with a bottle, with the latter issuing a red card.

In a fit of rage, the referee lost control of his temper, kicking the staff member, as in the sport of karate.

This situation increased the tension and the police had to intervene to quell the fight on the field. The match was then stopped, as there was no way it was about football.
