The deal of the year, the most expensive ever in Premier League history. Alexander Isak will be Liverpool's new centre-forward until 8pm tonight, when the summer transfer window closes.

He will be the most expensive player in the history of the English Premier League, having been paid 150 million.

Isak was among the key players who gave Newcastle the English League Cup, their first major trophy in 70 years.

Protracted negotiations to reach an agreement dominated the summer transfer window in the Premier League, where the initial offer was more than 125 million euros, but it was not accepted.

The fee paid for Alexander Isak exceeds that of Florian Wirtz. Liverpool paid Bayer Leverkusen almost 135 million euros, including bonuses.

Liverpool has spent a total of 520 million to strengthen itself this summer.

These moves are paying off, as Liverpool are in first place in the Premier League with full points.
