Kairat Almaty players' reaction after the draw with Real and Inter

The reaction of Kairat Almaty players after the draw with Real Madrid and Inter in the 2025-2026 Champions League group stage: joy, arms towards the sky and hands in their hair.

It's a lifelong dream. The Kazakh club's players all watched the draw for the first phase of the biggest European tournament, held in the Principality of Monaco, together, and when they were drawn against Casa Blanca and the black-and-blue team, the room erupted in joy.

The team that qualified for the first time in its history in the Champions League, eliminating Celtic in the play-offs, will be the easternmost club in Europe among those participating in the most important continental event.

Kairat Almaty players' reaction after the draw

On the occasion of the Champions League group stage draw in Monte Carlo, Kairat Almaty players gathered to attend the ceremony and eagerly awaited the match against Real Madrid and Inter.

The first opponent drawn was the most successful club in the world and the outburst of joy was very genuine, with some players raising their arms to the sky and others putting their hands in their hair. When the match against Inter took place, in addition to the celebration, some shouted: "We're going to San Siro".

In addition to Real Madrid and Inter, Kairat Almaty will also play against Club Brugge, Olympiacos, Pafos, Arsenal, Sporting Clube de Portugal and Copenhagen in their first Champions League experience.

Kairat Almaty in the Champions League for the first time

Kairat Almaty qualified for the Champions League, sensationally eliminating Brendan Rodgers' Celtic on penalties. The Kazakh club went through 4 preliminary rounds, eliminating Slovenians NK Olimpia Ljubljana, Finnish KuPS and Slovaks Slovan Bratislava: Kairat won the ticket to the championship phase thanks to 3 penalties saved by Anarbekov, the reserve goalkeeper who replaced the starting Zarutskiy, who was injured in the first match against the Scots.

It is not the first time a Kazakh team has appeared in the Champions League: in the 2015-2016 season, Astana was drawn in Group C with Atletico Madrid, Benfica and Galatasaray.
