Albanian football is in mourning today, following the passing of Lulzim Konçi, one of the most well-known figures in Albanian sports.
The former FIFA international referee passed away at the age of 85, leaving behind a valuable legacy.
Konçi began his journey with a passion for football as a player for Tirana and Dinamo. He then rose to the highest ranks of refereeing, representing Albania as a FIFA referee.
In addition to his great contribution to sports, Konçi was also an educator. He remained connected to the world of football even after retiring as a referee, serving as an observer.
He had been living in New York for several years. The newspaper "Panorama Sport" expresses its most sincere condolences to the Konçi family.
