Reaction of the American Embassy :

On Sunday, Albanian citizens will exercise their most basic democratic right – to vote for their leaders and their future.

The United States Embassy calls on all political parties and institutions to ensure that election activities are conducted in accordance with Albanian law and international standards.

The Albanian authorities must ensure that the elections are transparent, free and safe. As in previous processes, international representatives, including from the US embassy, ​​will travel around the country as election observers. Elections are the foundation of democracy.

The leaders of the parties had the obligation to propose clean candidates, worthy to represent the Albanian people, and now the decision must be in the hands of the citizens. As we have done over the past three decades, the United States will support the will of the Albanian people for a strong democracy.
