The whole of official Athens seems to have been set in motion after the arrest of the candidate of the coalition "Bashke Fitomje" for the Municipality of Himara, Fredi Beleri, who is accused of buying and selling votes.
The Greek media "Protothema" reports that the Greek Foreign Minister, Nikos Dendias, contacted the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, and informed the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, about what is happening in our country.
Likewise, the Minister of Defense, Takis Theodorikakos, also held a telephone conversation with his counterpart Bledi Çuçin, where he demanded the immediate release of the candidate for mayor of Himara.
Earlier, the Greek ambassador, Kostandina Kamici held a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she expressed concern about the arrest of the "Together We Win" coalition candidate for Himara, Fredi Beleri.
Fredi Beleri was arrested yesterday evening in the premises of his bar. Together with him, two other people were put in handcuffs. They are accused of buying votes from SPAK, which the arrested denies.
Accusations of "Active corruption in elections carried out in collaboration" weigh heavily on him.
"This citizen was caught red-handed in Himare on 12.05.2023 at 00:14 minutes, in cooperation with other persons, promising and giving", the document states.
