A big disaster. This is how former Prime Minister Sali Berisha considered the raising of the EU flag by Prime Minister Edi Rama in front of the Prime Minister's Office this morning.
During a meeting with young people in Durrës, Berisha stated once again that he considers Rama an enemy, but only him and not the other socialists.
"Edi Rama today raised the EU flag in front of the Prime Minister's Office. That flag is a flag of values, of values, of cultural treasures in the first place priceless, it is a flag of human values related to freedom. The truth is that there was no greater misfortune for that flag than Edi Rama holding it in his hand today.
I declared it on July 7, an enemy, I said it with absolute conviction, it is an enemy because it does not allow Albanians to vote. Freedom has the vote. If you don't have the vote, you don't have freedom, you don't have dignity. Even the occupiers allowed you to vote, but appointed a representative of the occupier. In fact, after kicking the vote of the Albanians, he was expelled from the SP. I don't consider the socialists enemies, I consider Edi Rama because he also took away their vote", said Berisha.
As for the lack of opposition at the First Intergovernmental Conference, Berisha said that he would go to Brussels if invited by Rama, but he would not shake hands with him.
"He went to Brussels as a monist, just like his predecessors went. Don't be surprised. I will tell you something from history, but true. From 1986, the Hungarian government and the Romanian government developed secret treaties with Brussels to accept them into the EU. Brussels replied, no, it said, you cannot be accepted because you are in the sphere of the Soviet Union. The only country, they said in confidence, from the former communists that can be accepted is Albania... but Albania was an enemy of the whole world. There is no doubt that he went to Brussels as a monist. That's why I have declared him the enemy of the freedom of Albanians.
Of course, if he invited you, I would go. But forget that he would shake hands with me. It could never happen. I would go to represent you, the democratic aspirations of Albanians. So he went as a monist, he came back as a monist. Of course, with the file on the back of the incinerators, with the file of the Port of Durrës", said Berisha.
