The Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti, has stated that they have signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of the Interior and the General Prosecutor's Office for the protection of cultural monuments and the prohibition of icon trafficking.

"It is a cooperation agreement between 3 institutions to stop the trafficking of cultural assets. We realized during various operations that it was necessary to identify the procedural steps, how to connect and coordinate to speed up the processes. Today the agreement places all institutions in front of a clear framework of steps, support measures that make it possible for employees to have easier steps for execution.

Previously, we signed an agreement together with the American Congress on cooperation in the protection of cultural assets and the fight against illegal trafficking. This has brought a special training in some institutions of the country", she said in an interview for Euronews Albania.

But, when asked by the journalist which are the monuments that will be protected by the Ministry of the Interior, for the preservation of the icons, Minister Margariti got stuck and did not know how to say any names.

"I don't come up with all the names of the monuments, there are many in Berat and Gjirokastër, but names are not my strong point, but you can follow it in the future. They are also being promoted by the channels of the Ministry of Culture and within the year they will be more than public names," said Margariti
