Treasury bills, Rama: Good moment to invest

Prime Minister Edi Rama held a press conference this Tuesday, where, together with the Minister of Finance, they focused on investments in treasury bonds.

The head of the government said that the moment is good to invest in government securities. The head of the government stated that the counters of the Bank of Albania have been reopened in order to facilitate the access of individuals to all its branches in the country.

"Today is a slightly special reason for this conference because it is a moment in which we need to inform the general public through the media about the good moment to invest in government securities. You know that we are in a phase of rising interest rates, and for this very reason, regardless of the causes that are also well known and related to the general crisis, the rise in interest rates is an advantage for all those who invest in treasury bonds and bonds that are effectively zero risk. For this reason, the Bank of Albania has reopened its counters to facilitate individuals' access to all its branches in Albania.

A positive step in terms of citizens' direct contact with the institution of the Central Bank, but also a meaningful sign that the Bank gives to all those who wish or may consider investing in treasury bonds or bonds that are longer term.

This is the subject of this joint conference with the Minister of Finance and Economy, who can make a more detailed presentation regarding this operation of the Bank of Albania, but also with this opportunity created by this situation for citizens and for every individual subject who wants to be involved in investments in treasury bonds by paying a much smaller commission than what the second level banks offer and by depositing these funds at the bank counters and then turning to the Bank of Albania.

It is a complex moment of the economy as a whole. Our economy is no exception, as we are part of the same space that is under the pressure of war and an aggression that materializes on us through the energy price crisis that we have faced very successfully, I would say, as long as the bill has not increased by a penny. families and small businesses and through the inflation of the war that despite being impossible to eliminate as we have so far eliminated the increased price by subsidizing the entire invisible part of the bill, has been kept in a greater kind of control than in countries others in the region as a result of the non-increase in energy prices", said Rama
