The Socialist Party has undertaken a legal initiative to change the law on the Authority of Files, after the letter request that the authority started a few days ago to the Assembly and where it resulted as a former collaborator of the State Security, former president Ilir Meta.

In a communication to the media, socialist MP Klotilda Bushka, stated that the legal initiative consists in creating the legal basis for the verification of subjects regardless of whether or not they have previous certificates of cleanliness, in the light of facts and truth, as well as for the verification of to all subjects who are elected or appointed to public positions on the purity of their image.

The flagrant and disturbing cases reflected in the information letter of the Authority addressed to the Parliament of Albania, where important figures of the state equipped with the Certificate of the purity of the figure actually result in the documents created by the former State Security, require an addressing and reaction immediate. Full transparency for these cases must be carried out and the obstacles or gaps in the existing legislation must be addressed in order to clarify the truth according to the democratic values ​​of justice as a responsibility for future generations but above all an obligation for those who suffered under the regime the past .'- said Bushka.

Revealing the truth about the people who exercise state duties, above all about those who have had and have high state positions, said Bushka, is a necessity and a powerful symbolism to condemn the crimes of the past but obviously in the function of now for the creation of a society based on democratic principles and values.

As the well-known Italian writer Primo Levi, a survivor of the infamous Auschwitz camp, wrote: “It happened, therefore it can happen again: this is the essence of what we have to say. It can happen, and it can happen anywhere.” Precisely in order to ensure that history does not repeat itself and to achieve social peace, the collaborators of the previous system should not have the opportunity to be part of the decision-making at whatever level it is.'- Bushka said .
