With the restrictions of statements imposed by the President's suit, Ilir Meta was attacked against the Government, but surprisingly more than Edi Rama's name in these two days has mentioned the name of The Oblast.
Basa accused him of secret agreements with Eddie Rama since before 17 May 2017, an agreement that he said had damaged democracy, pluralism and installed a kleptocratic regime in the country that put national interests at risk.
"The territorial map was adopted with full consensus between The Rama and The Oblast. I asked The Oblast to get involved by giving him the guarantee that nothing would pass without consensus. Basha never brought a proposal. Rama told him to leave the map to me like this and I support where the LSI candidates will be, such as in Vore, Kumanovo, or The Oblast," he said.
The former PD leader called it 'order fraudster', who trapped LSI with the decision to burn down mandates in 2019.
"Ilir Meta has categorically been against the crazy bet to trust an orderly fraudster to lie meaninglessly by burning mandates, leaving parliament, boycotting local government. The burning of mandates was planned by the mafia running Albania, by oligarchs that should be abandoned and local government", Meta said at the LSI Convention, where the party's name was changed to the Freedom Party.
Although for almost 48 hours he has been under the target of Ilir Meta more than Edi Rama, The Basha has been silent. The former head of the PD has not yet responded, either personally nor through the few loyal people left in the PD, one of whom Gazment Blanci.
How do Meta's attacks on him and the silence of The Oblast explain? One way of explaining them is that Ilir Meta may have smelled, or been made aware that he would soon be declared 'non grata' by the US and just as Sali Berisha is preparing not to blame only The Drama, or his alleged lobbying in Washington and London.
Ilir Meta is preparing the ground for the hypothetical case of the US proclamation non grata to maintain the same line as That of Sali Berisha; So blame both Eddie Drama and The Oblast.
The silence of The Oblast on the other hand can be explained by the fact that the former leader of the PD may be aware of this (always hypothetical) US decision and awaits the moment when he is announced, perhaps with a-for-tat by Secretary Anthony Blinken, just as he did in May 2021 when he declared unwelcome for involvement in massive corruption, minimum legal state and interference in justice Sali Berisha.
