The PD's primary candidate for mayor, Ilir Alimehmeti, invited to the show "The Unexposed", said that the withdrawal was made after consultation with other structures and key people in the party.

Neritan Sejamini: You were the voters' favorite. Why did you withdraw? When you made the runoff, I started looking at the results. If you have an area that is in favor of someone, unusually, we remove it from the analysis to understand DP membership. I removed Mr. Kelliçi's areas from the analysis, thinking that he has a direct influence there. The result you have is impressive. Based on the fact that you have not been in contact with the party. With little campaigning, DP voters showed that they have a preference for you. When we say that DP voters have a preference for you, we can judge that the gray electorate would also have more preference for you. So the best choice for DP was you. You made this preference zero when you withdrew.

Ilir Alimehmeti: You forgot that on the day of the runoff, those areas would vote again.

You take for granted that the same population will come to the polls, which is not the case. Take for granted that Mr. Bogdani's votes would all go to me. Neritan Sejamini: When the citizens of Tirana voted, there was pessimism towards you, they did not know the strength. So, Kelliç's votes could also come to you. Perhaps, many other voters, who did not know who to choose, could go to the polls. So we don't know the final dynamics.
