A few days ago, Gert Shehu, 31 years old, punched Berisha in the face, bleeding her. He was immediately detained by Berisha's bodyguards and in the meantime was raped by DP supporters and sympathizers.
'This is a political moment where the situation can escalate very seriously in Albania', was the statement of the lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu while commenting in a television interview on the attack on Berisha on December 6.
He listed 5 tracks of attack on the chief democrat.
1. A madman saw Sali Berisha on TV, hates him politically and said I will become Avni Rustemi, I will hit him.
2. The opponents within the party did it.
3. Certain individuals who have old problems with Sali Berisha.
4. They may have provided non-European, anti-Albanian services.
5. Or those that are not anti-Albanian, for two clear messages, either that of destabilization, or that which shows that the red line has been crossed and the attack is the last warning.
Spahiu said that there are two alibis that must be dropped as soon as possible, firstly that Sali Berisha ordered the incident himself.
" Knowing the character of Sali Berisha, he would also accept the murder, but not to be publicly beaten ," the lawyer declared.
The second alibi that must be dropped is that Edi Rama had an interest in ordering the attack on Berisha.
"Edi Rama is the man who avoids physical and personal conflicts. Edi Rama is not brave, Edi Rama knows that one day he will leave the prime ministership and does not enter the path of political revenge or blood feud with strong individuals or families in Albania," said Spahiu.
