Investigative journalist, Artan Hoxha commented on ABC yesterday's incident at the opposition protest, where the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, was attacked with a fist.
Hoxha said that the incident with the fist in the protest received attention from the EU-Western Balkans Summit that took place yesterday in Tirana. The journalist said that in yesterday's protest the only bodyguard who was armed was Ilir Meta's bodyguard. Berisha's bodyguards did not have weapons with them.
For this, Hoxha said that Berisha is not guarded by the Republic Guard because of the issue of the seal in court and that he has not yet been officially recognized as the leader of the DP. " Berisha's inviolability was broken ," said Hoxha.
We recall that Gerti Shehu, 31 years old, attacked the leader of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha, while the latter was marching towards the boulevard "Dëshmorët e Kombit" to participate in the protest. The 31-year-old punched Berisha in the face, making him bleed. He was immediately detained by Berisha's bodyguards and in the meantime was raped by DP supporters and sympathizers.
The 31-year-old was escorted by the police and is currently receiving treatment at the Trauma hospital, as he has facial injuries and a fractured nose. Officers have tried twice to interrogate the young man, but due to his health condition, he has not given any evidence so far. It is suspected that the 31-year-old suffers from mental health problems.
