Albania and the European Union will hold the 8th Intergovernmental Conference on the accession negotiation process this Tuesday in Brussels.

After the country successfully passed the interim objectives for the "Foundations" group, this next meeting in Brussels will serve to determine the final milestones for this group of chapters, which include Chapter 23 - Judiciary and Fundamental Rights, as well as Chapter 24 - Justice, Freedom and Security, the functioning of democratic institutions, public administration reform and economic criteria.

Albania will be represented by Prime Minister Rama along with a team from the negotiating group. The conference is scheduled to officially start at 7:30 p.m.

This meeting follows a series of intergovernmental conferences that have led to the opening of all negotiating chapters, including "Fundamentals", "Internal Market", "Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth", "Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity", "Resources, Agriculture and Cohesion", and "External Relations".

The 8th Conference is considered an important moment in the current phase of negotiations, as it focuses on concluding the interim conditions that determine the further pace of Albania's European integration process.
