In all the documents he has signed, in front of the public, on the official social network on Facebook, in everyday life, etc., Ilir Meta is presented with the last name 'Meta'.

In the civil status register, in the decriminalization form that he filled out and many other official documents, Ilir Meta appears with the last name 'Metaj', i.e. with the letter 'j' at the end. In the legal field, police records, TIMS system, court proceedings, etc., changing the last name by one letter is crucial, even as much as a completely different name. 

For example, if an investigative body calls Ilir Meta one day, under the name Ilir Meta, the latter may not appear, as his name is Ilir Metaj. Ilir Meta can cross any barrier and avoid responsibility under the name Ilir Meta, since his official surname is Metaj. 

But why doesn't Ilir Meta sign with his full name and why has he avoided the 'Metaj' version for three decades?

If Meta did not like the Metaj version, why didn't he change it in the state of Civil Status? 

Has Meta deliberately kept the two versions, Meta and Metaj, to cover up his past as an associate of the former State Security?
