The Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla, said that the case made public by the Files Authority regarding the involvement of former President Meta in the State Security makes the reaction of the institution she leads mandatory.

" The case is shocking and the Assembly must definitely react. That's why I called the chairmen of the parliamentary groups. I want to thank the Files Authority for their fair response and courage in addressing this case. In respect of the law, I cannot speak more at this stage ", said Nikola.

Fatmir Mediu said that he did not learn proper names from Nikolla, but added that he wished that the issue would not have political nuances.

" The authority has submitted a file for a request for legal changes. We will discuss with the group colleagues who the political and legal approach is. I would hope that it is not a political case. I am not familiar with the specific names, but laws are not made for individuals, but for certain issues. The Assembly must take a clear position ," he said.

While Mesila Doda, also present at the meeting of the chairmen of the parliamentary groups, said that the names of the persons involved in the State Security should be made public. " We can no longer continue with initials, they must come up with names and the Speaker of the Assembly should ask for the purity of the picture for all 140 deputies ", she said.
