There were strong retorts in the Assembly between the opposition MPs and the head of the session, Ermonela Felaj, whose 4 family members were appointed to various positions in the Tirana prosecutor's office.

In her replies to Albana Vokshi, Luan Baçi and Sali Berisha, Felaj said that their appointment was made on the basis of merit, and not of her political affiliation.

"Whether I should be here or not, you don't decide, other people have decided. Mrs. Vokshi, don't keep the pulpit blocked, this is completely ridiculous, it's the few times you've done it.

Since my family members are so worried, you and everyone else, those titles were not given to us by politics, but by education. Don't bring your family here because it's very slanderous.

You and your family should have left this country that the USA has declared you non grata, there is not a single black spot in my biography and that of my family ", said Felaj.

The members of the Felaj family entered the Tirana prosecutor's office one after the other after being confirmed by the High Council of Prosecutors.

During the last four years, three family members of MP Felaj have already been appointed to the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana. In March 2019, the KLP decided to appoint as a prosecutor in Tirana through a controversial procedure the husband of the deputy, Bledar Valikaj, without first going through the vetting process.

Just a few months later, in May 2019, the General Prosecutor's Office selected, after a competitive procedure, the deputy's brother, Armando Felaj, as a judicial police officer in the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana. At the plenary meeting on May 29, the draft act was approved for the transfer of the latter's wife, Alma Felaj, from the Prosecutor's Office of Durrës to that of Tirana.
