The Reestablishment candidate for the Municipality of Tirana, who in the elections of May 14 set the record for the deepest defeat of the opposition in front of Erion Veliaj, appeared this Wednesday in an extraordinary press conference.
Belind Kelliçi came out of the pulpit at the headquarters of the Democratic Party without a stamp to denounce, according to him, an original e-mail that proves to us how Edi Rama and Erion Veliaj are involved in the Tirana incinerator file.
The conference called, as if Kelliçi had invented the wheel, was also reflected on the official website of the Democratic Party of Reestablishment under the title "The involvement of Rama and Veliaj in the incinerator of Tirana / Belind Kelliçi: Proof of email communication 'a smoking gun'." It will be sent personally to Altin Duman, the head of SPAK".
More than a serious statement of the opposition, the title used in this alleged denunciation of Belind Kelliçi, where the words 'weapon', 'smoke', 'Altin Duman' and 'SPAK' are included in one sentence, is a 'clickbait' title commonly used by portals.
Why? Because if you see the content of the e-mail denounced by Kelliçi, it talks about a communication between the representatives of the incinerator company, who claim to have met the state administrator of the seized assets.
Whether the meeting took place or not remains to be proven. But, even if it is taken for granted that the meeting between the representatives of the incinerator company and the state administrator took place, it does not at any moment connect the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj with this issue.
First, because the state administrator, in this case of the Tirana incinerator, is not appointed by the Municipality of Tirana, but by the Agency for the Administration of Seized and Confiscated Properties, which is subordinate to the Ministry of Finance, and secondly, the content of message does not directly or indirectly connect the state administrator with Erion Veliaj.
