Prime Minister Edi Rama has continued his arguments with judges on the issue of salaries.
He says that no one can replace Parliament and order them around.
Rama's reaction
Never mind, this is not the language of a judge, but the language of an ultra who shouts in the street against VAR.
Regrets and some simple truths:
No one can replace parliament, nor can they order the legislature when to raise its hand. Only the Constitutional Court, and no one else, has the right and duty to tell it when it has raised its hand incorrectly, but neither can it tell the independent legislative branch how to raise its hand.
The wage policy is proposed only by the government, approved only by parliament, and implemented only by the government. The Constitutional Court intervenes only if a constitutional principle or norm is violated, which legislators must repair without compromising their independence, as they see fit to express with their vote.
If, far from it, the associations of prosecutors and judges have decided to use political and legal means coordinated with the prosecutor's offices and courts, like an army arrayed against the government, to impose themselves on us with lawsuits, insurance, or executions to increase their salaries, then we are facing a new kind of challenge, which does not scare us, but worries us immensely.
But we don't want it to be like this and I don't want to allow it to happen like this, because unlike what this media judge thinks, this stratospheric salary thing, for us is not a matter of resentment but a challenge to Albania's European statehood.
It's very simple. The table prepared for the requested and canceled meeting continues to be ready. On September 17, only this publicly tense episode ends, which could and should have been avoided, but it does not exhaust the need for communication between independent powers. On the contrary, it did not arise from the salary episode and will be even greater at every step until membership in the European Union.
But we have the table and the willingness, the rest is up to the judges :-)
