1.5 million euros for the Sea with Greece, the reserve fund was used to draft

The talks between Greece and Albania on the division of the sea have remained at an unclear point, where the parties have so far announced that they will turn to the International Court of Justice to resolve the border points.

Although there is little information from the negotiating group that received full power in 2018, the Albanian government has taken concrete steps.

According to the data from the actual budget in 2021, 143.5 million lek, or 1.2 million euros, were spent on the approval of the contract with the object of consultancy for the drafting of the draft agreement that will be concluded between the Republic of Albania and that of Greece, for the reference of the issue of delimitation of maritime areas at the International Court of Justice.

The fund was transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by decision of the Council of Ministers no. 224 dated 7.04.2021

Further through the tables it is clarified that another 35 million lek or about 300 thousand euros have been given to the National Agency of the Information Society called AKSHI. Even for this institution, the fund was allocated through the same decision of the Council of Ministers, Ora writes .

Due to the deadlock of the case, a long-distance clash took place between the former president Ilir Meta and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Nikos Dendias. The latter stated that the head of the Albanian state became an obstacle to sending the case to court.
