The OSCE/ODIHR reacted this Tuesday to the situation that has been created for 8 days in Albania, where students and young people have been protesting in the streets of Tirana and where there have been no shortage of violent episodes and clashes with the State Police.
"Concerned by reports of violence during protests in Albania, ODIHR calls on all parties to maintain peace.
"Law enforcement agencies should avoid the unlawful or disproportionate use of force against protesters, and any case of unlawful use of force should be investigated immediately and independently," the OSCE/ODIHR response states.
According to official data, 271 people have been arrested so far for participating in the protest, many of them minors.
