Prime Minister Edi Rama has spoken about the attitude of a part of society towards violence, linking his concern to the recent developments during the protests. He stated that violence is being relativized and justified, while emphasizing the need for more commitment to its prevention and the criminalization of activities involving children and young people.

During the meeting of the National Council for the Rights and Protection of Children, Rama called for cooperation between state institutions and civil society, also focusing on the expansion of sports, cultural and artistic activities for children.

In this context, the Prime Minister announced that starting next year, the extension of children's school hours will begin until 5:00 p.m. According to him, a budget has been provided for this purpose so that parents can continue working, while children have more time and opportunities to engage in activities within the school.

"We have witnessed a disturbing picture of the approach of a part of society to a taboo for all democracies, for all paths of coexistence in democracy, which is violence. We have seen how violence has been relativized, justified and glorified."

The next step is the work that needs to be done jointly between us and civil society to increase the range of children's social activities, from sports to culture, which includes all activities related to the stage, painting, crafts, photography, and so on.

"The extension of children's stay in school will begin immediately next year. We have set a budget so that parents can work and children will be in school until 5 pm," said Rama.
