Intimate video published, fierce clash between Elton and Rizarta Hoxha

A video published by journalist Elton Tozaj has led to a public clash between him and Rizarta Hoxha.

The footage showed the latter exchanging a kiss with a man, while the publication was accompanied by the question of whether the moment was recorded before or after her trip to Spain.

After the publication, Rizarta reacted on Instagram, considering the distribution of the images an invasion of her private life. She warned that she would no longer address the issue publicly, but would pursue legal action.

"I want to publicly clarify something that has already crossed the line of information and has entered into the violation of private life," she writes, further referring to legal provisions that, according to her, protect private life, personality, reputation and personal data.

"From this moment on, the matter will no longer be addressed publicly, but only through legal channels," she concluded.

Elton Tozaj's response was not long in coming. The journalist defended his publication, arguing that the footage was taken in a public setting and that, according to him, reporting on public figures in these circumstances does not constitute a violation.

"The fact that you are a public figure places you and keeps you in the spotlight," Tozaj wrote, among other things, insisting that publishing photos or videos taken outside a private residence can be part of reporting when there is public interest.
